General liability limits are available in the amounts of $500,000 or $1,000,000. One million coverage is almost always chosen because of the small difference in premium. Coverage over $1,000,000 can be provided by purchasing an umbrella. Limits of up to $10,000,000 dollars are available.

Here is a typical general liability package for a one-person operation:

$1,000,000 - Bodily injury & property damage combined (per occurrence).

$3,000,000 - Bodily injury & property damage (aggregate).

$1,000,000 - Product liability.

$10,000 - Medical payments.

Annual premium of $1,150 to $1,550. Add $150 to $250 for a $25,000 tool package.
